Multi-Table Madness!

This year PokerStars is offering several enhancements to their already generous VIP program including more player points per hand in most games and tournaments, Stellar Rewards which are an incremental set of bonuses which anyone who plays any amount of poker will get a piece of (and amount to an additional $1,000 extra on your way to Supernova status for the year) and maybe most importantly for the serious grinders they’ve revamped their “Milestone Bonuses” so that you get much bigger bonuses at 100k, 200k, 300k, etc. points on your way to their very highest yearly level Supernova Elite.

I want to write more in detail about what they’re doing in another post but this post is really here to offer a small utility I wrote that will assist people who are doing extreme multi-tabling on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.

Behold PSTables.exe:

Yes, this program provides a small window that will show how many tables you have open (works for Hold ’Em tables only on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker).  It will also show the number of tables on your taskbar and clicking the taskbar icon shows and hides the main desktop window.  This really is useful when you are multi-tabling 12, 16, or even 24 tables at the same time so you can be sure you keep your target number open keep the VPPs flowing at the highest rate.

The utility can be found only on Low Limit Holdem Strategy and Tactics—do not trust any mirror locations.

I was sitting at one of the $0.50/$1.00 Limit Holdem jackpot tables and someone at another table (but at the same limit) hit it so everyone not at that table got $260 and some change, which in terms of the limit we are sitting at is ... well it's 260 big bets. The bad beat of this story is that I wasn't sitting at more than one table (which I usually am) because you get a share for every table you are sitting at...

I've been playing quite a bit of low limit Holdem at UB the last few weeks and trying to improve my multi-tabling. So far the most I can do halfway reasonably is about six tables and that is without paying all that much attention to individual players. It just blows my mind that there are people out there that multitable 20 tables at a time. I'm wondering how that works, exactly, as I'd have trouble hitting 20 different buttons when it is my turn to act...
